Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is flying safe for the animals?
A:: Yes. Anyway, traveling by plain is much safer and less stressful than a long and tiresome journey by other transportation means.

Q: Where is my pet during the flight?
A: Pets are shipped in a pressurized and temperature controlled area of the plane, where the air is the same as it is in the passenger area. When you use the cargo system pets are put on the plane last and taken off first to assure their safety.

Q: Is it necessary to sedate the animal during the journey?
A: Not at all! Sedatives suppress the respiratory system and may cause serious health problems, sometimes even lethal ones.

Q: Is it expensive to ship my pet by plain?
A: It is expensive enough. Nevertheless, the costs are depending on the destination, but on the size of the animal also (mostly the size of the container matters, because the fees are established according to its volume, not according to the weight of the animal).
Additionally, you have to consider the costs concerning the preparation for the flight: buying the kennel, vaccinations, the microchip implantation, the cost of the passport etc.). In case the destination country requires quarantine, it supposes additional costs.

Q: What can I do to prepare my pet for the journey, so that the flight doesn’t affect it very much?
A: The best thing you can do is to accommodate the animal with the container to make it feel as comfortable as possible in his own space during the flight. Begin with small tricks like placing in the container its favorite toy, or its favorite blanket etc. It is recommendable that your friend has 2-3 days for getting used to the container; leave the container open in its own space, so that the pet becomes curious and begins to explore it, feeling comfortable inside.
